Best day!

Started out at the Crystal Palace with Brooke. Breakfast with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet! I had so much food. An omelet with swiss cheese and vegetables, puffed french toast, pineapple and berries, peach omelet, red potatoes, croissant, cinnamon bun, a Mickey waffle, Coke, hot chocolate, and orange juice. We used my 30% off coupon and the meal was $20 each.

After breakfast, we met Ariel in Adventureland. Then, we met Frontierland Donald! We wandered to Fantasyland, where we met the Fairy Godmother, RED DRESS/NANNY MARY POPPINS! (I freaked out), and Peter Pan.

We also rode Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan's Flight and the Teacups. We saw the end of 'Move it, Shake it, Celebrate it! Street Party' and I FINALLY got a high-five from a stilt walker! I wanted one ever since I got here.

After that, I went home to get my stuff for work, and then met Brooke at Epcot.

We wandered around World Showcase, and after saying hi to Ruth in the UK, found that there were a whole bunch of characters in between Canada and the UK. We saw Br'er Fox, Baloo, Suzy and Perla (the mice from Cinderella), Pluto, Goofy, Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Stitch and Rafiki. I met Br'er Fox twice-the second time, he proposed! Of course, I said yes.

After that unexpected awesomeness, we went to watch Jodi Benson from the Little Mermaid narrate the Candlelight Processional! I had to leave halfway through to go to work.

When I got to work, Cher was playing in the tunnels. YES. I got Snow Entrance for the fireworks, and only one person jumped the chains. I said "Ma'am, please get back underneath the chains, it's for your own safety." She said "I'd like to see you stop me!", started laughing maniacally, and ran away. It was sort of hilarious. I got to use my light stick as a lightsaber, and an old guy told me I should be a Jedi.

My coordinator gave us all hand warmers and hot chocolate, and then at the end of the night, one of the managers gave us all cookies. As I walked down into the tunnels, Taylor Swift and then Britney Spears were playing. Best day!

6 Weeks Left!

I am a terrible person. Not really, but I've been terrible at updating this. So much has gone on, but when I open the page to write, I just sit there and stare.

The first night I worked Wishes, the fireworks show, I was on the castle ramps. I saw a proposal happen less than a foot away from me. It was decidedly magical.

I didn't get my program extension. I found out, and called my parents. After the phone call, I was looking at flights and found one home. Less than 10 minutes later, my parents had bought it as a Christmas present. I go back to Montana on January 7.

I have 3 rides left at Epcot- Soarin', Test Track, and Circle of Life
I have 4 rides left at Hollywood Studios- Toy Story Midway Mania, the Playhouse Disney Show, the Osborne Dancing Lights, and the Studio Backlot Tour
I have 5 rides left at Magic Kingdom-Swiss Family Treehouse, Splash Mountain, the Carousel, Liberty Square Riverboat, and the Tomorrowland Speedway
I have one ride left at Animal Kingdom-Kali River Rapids

I've seen Boyz II Men and Hanson in concert at Epcot

When I was at 'American Idol' for the first time, Ian Ziering came out and gave a pep talk. Random, but awesome.

I saw Harry Potter 5, 6 and then 7 at midnight on November 18. 7.5 hours of Harry Potter, it was delightful.

I've been on dates with boys from Florida, England, Turkey, India, Italy, Brazil,  Puerto Rico, and Australia. The best were England, Australia, and Florida. The worst were Turkey and India.

I've been having the time of my life. I've swing danced with Goofy, met every princess, danced with Woody, cried at the Lion King show every time, taught little girls the princess wave and the princess stance, moms have hugged me, little girls have hugged me, a woman asked if I was Snow White or Wendy, I've been on every rollercoaster at Disney World, I've seen giraffes less than a foot away from me, I've seen baby elephants and kissed Donald Duck. I've eaten at all 28 booths during the Food and Wine Festival, and made friends in the UK pavilion. I wore shorts and a tshirt on Thanksgiving because it was 80 degrees and sunny. I cried when I met Belle for the first time, went swimming at 1am in October at the pool, played in the ocean in September, learned how to live on pasta, salads and sandwiches, sang along to Sweet Caroline at Jellyrolls, saw a double rainbow at the Boardwalk, discovered the best sandwich at Earl of Sandwich, rode on Small World for the first time during work the first day it reopened, rode Winnie the Pooh 3 times during work one night, and watched Holiday Wishes at the white sand beach at the Polynesian while eating a pineapple and vanilla Dole Whip.

Pure magic.

A hug from Snow White

Last night, I had my own magical moment backstage. I had just gotten my assignment for Pooh grouper, when Snow White and her Prince walked by with the Dwarves. I said hi, not expecting anything back.
Snow White stopped and said "Hi! How's your night going?"
"It's good. I'm going to go tell guests where to stand."
"Oh, I hope you have fun."
"Thanks! By the way, I really appreciate it when face characters are nice. So, thank you."
"Aww!" Snow White gave me a huge hug and then said "you just made my night."
"Oh my goodness, you just made mine!"

I walked to Winne the Pooh with a smile on my face.

Disclaimer: This picture was taken at Germany in Epcot on one of my days off.

The Good and the Bad, in order

The good: A 31 year-old Englishman hit on me in Walmart. I was looking at the new Harry Potter calender, and he said "I've met him. Daniel Radcliffe." What a good pick up line for me.
The bad: Who hits on someone in Walmart?

The good: I didn't have a closing shift at work last night!
The bad: My shift was from 8:15pm-2:15am. I didn't get home until 3am.

The good: I got Subway during one of my breaks!
The bad: They didn't have the bread I wanted

The good: I got my first Guest Service Fanatic card!!!!
The bad: There's nothing bad about that statement; I was at Pooh Grouper and having a really good time!

The good: I was at Pooh Grouper and having a really good time!
The bad: A lady complained to Guest Relations about me.

I was grouping, and at Pooh, there's 2 lines. There's the regular line, and the line at the exit for guests with disabilities and magical moments.
There were a lot of people in the exit line, so I was grouping as fast as possible. Then there was a family of 4 in the regular line, and a group of 7 in the exit line. I had just sent a group of 10 from the regular line, so I asked the family of 4 to wait a second. I sent the group of 7 (it was a magical moment, and they were cast members), and then turned to the family of 4. They had waited maybe 25 extra seconds. The mother was furious.
"Excuse me. Why did you let them go ahead of us?"
"Well ma'am, I'm trying to get as many people into the ride as fast as possible."
"But they're teenagers. They didn't have a card."
"Ma'am, we have a thing called magical moments..."
She interrupted me. "I know what those are! They're teenagers!"
"Ma'am, teenagers need magic too."
"No they don't! How dare you send them before us!"
"Ma'am, I'm really sorry. If you want to go to rows 3 and 4, that'd be great. Again, I'm sorry I upset you."
The family marched past me without another word.

A little later, one of my coordinatos comes up to me. "Hey, I'll take over your position for a little bit. Your manager needs to talk to you."
"Oh, okay."

I went to find him, and he told me that the woman had complained to Guest Relations about me. He told me that next time, I should explain that at the bottom of the exit ramp, there's a cast member who screens everyone.

I didn't get in trouble, but it was a strange thing to have happen right after I got my first Guest Service Fanatic card.

The good: I got a ride home after work with some friends, and we had a Disney and Glee sing-along during the ride!
The bad: Once again, there's nothing bad about that.

This is Halloween

Super awesome Halloween costumes I've seen:
-Mary Poppins and Bert, in blue dress and chimney sweep
-A 7 year-old boy as Jafar, with a drawn-on goatee in eyeliner
-Incredible Jack Sparrow
-A 'Cinderella' family: Grandfather in the ECV as the King, Grandmother was the Fairy Godmother, Mom was Cinderella, Dad was the Prince, Son was Gus-Gus
-Steampunk bride and groom-the bride's dress had a corset, train and bustle!
-A bride in Ariel's town outfit-blue skirt, white shirt, black corset, with a stuffed Flounder
-A really handsome guy dressed as Prince Eric
-A teenage girl dressed as Pinocchio, complete with marionette strings
-A cast member who dressed up as peasant Snow White, and looked exactly like her. She was in Entertainment, same with a cast member who dressed up as Tinkerbell
-A Peter Pan family, all women. There was Smee, Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Wendy, the crocodile, and Tinkerbell
-Every kid or adult dressed as a Harry Potter character
-A cast member dressed as Tom Marvolo Riddle. He looked eerily like the character, it was awesome
-A Gepetto dad, Blue Fairy mother, and Pinocchio son
-A gorgeous ballroom Belle dress on a teenager. She made it herself!
-A group of people wearing 'Calvinball Champions 2010' t-shirts
-A group of people dressed as characters from Up-Russell, Kevin (the bird), Carl, and Dug. They looked awesome
-A man dressed as Shaggy who has the voice down. "Like, where's the candy?" His daughter was Daphne and his wife was Scooby
-A group dressed as Wilderness Explorers, from Up
-A group of teenagers and adults dressed as princesses-Snow White, Aurora, Cinderella, Belle, Tinkerbell, Mulan, Jasmine, and Ariel

Terribly awful Halloween costumes:
-A 40 year-old woman in Bella's dress from 'Twilight'. You know, the green one that was available at Hot Topic. She even did her hair like Kristen Stewart's. My thought process: How sad. How sad that this older woman has to dress like a terrible literary character who had an emotionally abusive boyfriend...and she bought her dress from Hot Topic. The only things I buy at Hot Topic are Harry Potter and Invader Zim stuff.
-A younger guy, probably mid-20's dressed as Edward Cullen. He had painted his face white, and put glitter over it. He was wearing a blue long sleeve shirt and dress pants. And an Edward Cullen wig. His date was dressed as a Greek goddess.
(I saw both of these people a week apart, 'Bella' and 'Edward' were not together.)
-All of the mothers in the slutty Disney Princess costumes who come to the parties with their kids.
-The elementary school girls in slutty costumes (Alice is a popular one this year), with skirts that are too short and wearing way too much makeup. This is Disney World, not a beauty pageant.

This was my Halloween costume:
Yup, I was slutty Belle. It was the dress I got for my 18th birthday, with a borrowed tiara from one of my fantastic roommates. Hey, at least the dress covered everything that needed to be covered, and I didn't have any children with me.

No big deal, Prince Charming agreed to pretend-propose to me.
I love my life.

Adventuring! Or: How I swing danced with Goofy!

It's been forever since I've posted. I've been working late shifts and just...hanging out before I go to work. There's no real excuse.

On September 14, I went to the Magic Kingdom before with with two of my roommates. I met Chip and Dale in Tomorrowland!

I rode Space Mountain for the the first time! It's not my favorite ride. My neck snapped back at one point, and it hurt for a few hours. Also, being on a rollercoaster in complete darkness is not what I choose to do on a daily basis. We also rode the People Mover, and the Jungle Cruise! I love the Jungle Cruise, especially when I see my favorite Skipper. He's really cute and English. I rode Dumbo for the first time before I went to work, but my lever to move the flying elephant up or down didn't work. So I just sat there.

I met Ariel and Prince Eric. Price Eric remembered me from weeks ago, when I met him Epcot! It was awesome. “Hey, I know you. Anna, right? I met you in Epcot. How are you, Princess?” He also agreed to pretend to propose to me. So now I have Aladdin, Naveen, and Eric proposal pictures. YES.

Went to the street party. Goofy saw me standing alone, and gestured for me to come dance. When I didn’t come over right away, he walked over the sidewalk, kissed my hand, and started swing dancing with me!! He then kissed my cheek and went over to dance with the little kids again. It made my week.

I get to give out Halloween candy at Mickey's Not-So-Scary-Halloween Party this weekend! I'm really excited, I get to wear a new costume and a bat headband and get paid to give out candy to people!! This is the best job I've ever had.

This is my life

This is what working at Disney has done to me:

I was in the Magic Kingdom on my day off, playing in the park. I had just finished dancing with Chip and Dale at the street party and was wandering around the castle grounds before Storytime with Belle.

I went to Cinderella's wishing well, where I thought an engagement had just taken place. There was confetti everywhere. I took a few pictures, and then saw a couple coming towards me. I offered to take their picture. They hesitated, and then said yes. I made sure to get the castle in the background.

I handed them their camera, and then the guy offered, in a lovely English accent "Can I return the favor?" I didn't really want to take a single person picture in front of the romantic wishing well. I thanked him but declined, and went off to meet Peter Pan and Wendy.

I've started asking strangers on my day off if they want their pictures taken.

I'm much more patient at waiting in lines.

I smile at children everywhere I go.

I stop for a few seconds if I see a confused group of people, to see if I can help them out.

Everyone else is always right.

My face hurts from smiling so much.

I don't get hurt when people don't wave back anymore.

I ask people where they're visiting from, and then ask them to tell me something about their state/country.

I have to refrain from wishing people a happy birthday or happy anniversary when I'm not working.
The same goes with calling little girls 'Princess' and little boys 'buddy'.

Random Thought

I just remembered...
I went to France when I was 12 for a family reunion. My parents, brother, and me flew out of Denver to Houston, and then from Houston to Paris.
We went to a pizza restaurant the first night we were in Paris. The waiter was older, and was flirting with me. He took our orders cheerfully.
When he brought out our pizzas, my pizza and my mom's pizza were in the shape of a heart. He pointed at mine and said in heavily-accented English "My heart is in this, ma belle. You have my heart."
I smiled up at him, unaware of anything, and said "Merci!"

House of Blues, Experience 2

I went to Latin night at House of Blues yesterday. My roommates were tired, so I went alone. Riding the bus there, full of really drunk, loud, cheering people I didn't know was a little strange.

I walked into the club, and tried to put my purse in the same place as last time. I was told "We don't do that here." I thanked them anyway and walked away.

I was standing alone in a corner, in a giant club filled to the max with people. I noticed another girl standing alone, so I walked over and said hi. She said hello back, and we started talking. It turned out that she was delightful and from New Zealand, and also works for Disney! We started dancing together.

While my new friend and I were dancing, a really cute Italian guy walked up to us. I asked him to dance, and my new friend said she would hold my purse. He led me into the crowd and we started dancing. After a few songs, the caressing started. He kissed my hair, my forehead, my cheek, and then my lips.

However- his tongue was sticking out in between his lips. With every kiss. Before my mouth was open. It was gross.

He was like a damn lizard or snake or something.

Eventually, he said he was going to get another drink and left me alone, in the middle of the dance floor.

Another guy walked over, and asked me if I knew how to merengue. I said no, and he offered to teach me. He was incredibly patient, and I eventually got the hang of it. He was a really good dancer, he kept spinning me around and since I was wearing a skirt, it was utterly delightful.

At one point, a random guy walked up to us, yelled "YEAH! GET SOME!" and then just...turned and walked away.

What just happened?

After a few more songs, the merengue guy leaned in to kiss me. Not wanting to kiss more than one guy in a night, I turned it into a hug, thanked him for teaching me and for all the dances, and left to get some water.

I got my water, and then started looking for my new friend, who still had my purse. I searched for her for an hour; I was tired and hungry and my feet hurt so much. She eventually found me, and we rode the bus home together.

I got home, and went straight to bed, hoping to get rid of my stubble burn from the Italian Lizard Man.

Hollywood Studios!

Today was my day off. I took a bus to Epcot, and then a ferry to Hollywood Studios.

In order, I did:
Star Tours
Jedi Training Academy
Disney/Pixar Block Party Bash parade!
Beauty and the Beast musical!!
High School Musical 3 show

Met characters: Jafar, Aladdin (twice!), Mulan (twice!), Chip and Dale, Mary Poppins and Mr. Penguin, Gepetto and Pinocchio, Lotso, Sorcerer Mickey, Snow White, Minnie, Pluto, Tweeedle and Tweedledum, the Queen of Hearts, Rafiki, Captain Hook, Smee, Woody and Buzz!

Saw the Little Mermaid show!
Did the Narnia: Prince Caspian adventure tour!
Took the ferry back to Epcot, talked to a friend in the United Kingdom, met another handsome and nice guy in the UK.
Took the bus back to my apartment, and sat next to a really handsome and nice German guy.
Practically perfect in every way!

Quotes from last night

Question I got a lot last night: "Excuse me, what time does the 9 o'clock parade start?"

At the teacups, mother to daughter: "Honey, stop spinning that teacup right now!"

A family of sweet southern people: "Excuse me honey, where can we find some barbecued ribs? We all want ribs real bad."

A little boy: "Mommy! Look! Bubbles!"
His mom to me: "This is the most excited he's been all day."

Man to his daughter: "Come on, Princess! Let's go find Dumbo."

An older man: "What's that tree?"
Me: "It's the Hundred Acre woods!"
Older man: "Oh...that would make sense, seeing as we're outside Winnie the Pooh."

Me: "Come on, folks! Please keep moving in as far as you can! As far as you can! Make friends with the people next to you! It's a minute and 30 seconds until the next ride! Shortest wait you'll have all day! Please keep moving all the way down! All the way down, thank you! Hey buddy, can I get a high five? What a beautiful dress, Princess! Folks, keep moving all the way down, thank you!"

In other news:
A couple tried to sneak a baby in a backpack onto Space Mountain.
I passed my assessment on Sunday!
Had a lovely chat with an English family.
Yesterday, I got paid to blow bubbles, watch fireworks, and give high-fives to little kids.

House of Blues, Experience 1

Last night, on Sunday, I went out with two of my roommates to House of Blues for the first time! We took the bus there, and wandered around Downtown Disney until we found the club.

We went through a separate cast member entrance, and got free admission! Metal detectors were scanned, IDs were checked, and a good time was had by all while in line.

The lady checking my ID freaked out about my license. "Look! Montana has holograms! Of bears! That's so cool!!"

We got inside, where we were told "Ladies drink free till midnight!"

We got a red cup, and headed over to one of the 4 bars in there. We both got Sex on the Beach. I had never had one before, and it was delicious.

I was looking for a place to stash my coat and purse, and asked a handsome guy named Ryan working where I should put it. He was nice enough to say he'd watch it for me, and put it behind his bar. He was incredibly nice.

My roommate and I finished one drink, and I got some water. We started dancing, and then got another drink, a sour apple martini.

A tall guy with a great smile walked up to me and goes "Why isn't a pretty girl like you dancing?"
I smiled and shrugged, "No one's asked me."
"Well then, would you like to dance?"
"I'd love to, thanks."
We started dancing, and it was fun. Not the best, but not the worst. No jackhammer hips, but no spinning or anything. After a few songs, he started to smell like sweat. A lot of sweat. The song ended, and I thanked him for the dance. He asked me for my number. I gave it to him.

My roommate and I started dancing again, but there were really old men popping up in our corner of the dance floor. We left the floor, only to run into some guys from Puerto Rico, and then some guys from Russia.

One guy from Russia kissed my hand!

Another guy in their group kissed my cheek. We started talking, and then he said very seriously "Anna, I have something to tell you."
"Um, okay."
"I just took E."
" I hope nothing bad happens."
"And you're really, really, really, really, really attractive."
"See you later."

I walked away, to dance again with my roommate.
I saw a guy with a smile that lit up his whole face.
I asked him "Do you like to dance?"
"I love to dance."
"Would you like to dance with me?"
"I'd love to."

So we started dancing. A few songs later, the ever-classic 'kiss my hair, then kiss the side of my face, then actually kiss me' happened.
It was nice.
Then, the 22 year-old from Brazil started biting my lips with every kiss.

It's like he was mauling me.

I tried to remedy the situation by closing my mouth, but it was no use.

He then said "Hey, I work in a hotel, and I have a suite tonight. Want to come back with me?"
"No thanks."
"Come on! It'll be fun!"
"No, I have to work tomorrow."
"So do I."
"How would I get home?"
"I'll give you a ride. I have a car!"
"Where do you live?"
"Honestly? I have no idea."
"How do you not know where you live?"
"...Cause I take the bus everywhere."
"Do you have an address? I have GPS."
"Not on me."
"I'm sure we can figure something out."
"Good lord, you're persistent. I said no."
"Come on. You know you want to!"
"No. I'm going to head home."
"Can I have a goodnight kiss?"
I let him bite my lips one last time, and walked away.

I got my purse and my coat from Ryan, and he asked "Did you have a good time?"
"I did, thanks. Thank you so much for watching my stuff, I really appreciate it."
"Hey, no problem. I'd love to see you again. Are you going to come back?"
"Yeah, I am. I'll see you soon."

We smiled at each other, and my roommate and I went to catch the bus.

Ballroom Belle!

I met Belle for the first time in Toontown. When I saw her, I squealed  with happiness and started skipping to the end of the line.

When she hugged me for the first time, I started crying.

First time at CityWalk, or how I met my third Englishman named Richard

Or, how I became an international magnet.

I went out with two of my roommates last night for the first time! We decided to go to the Groove, which is a club at Universal Studios CityWalk. We met 2 really tall guys from Iceland on the moving sidewalk.

It said it opened at 9, so we got there at 10. They told us to come back at 11...because it was TEEN NIGHT! I wish Montana had clubs and teen night. So we walked around and came back at 11, only to see herds of teenagers being shepherded out of the club. They told us to wait until 11:15, because they had to clean. We stood in line and waited, when a tall guy came up to us. He was incredibly talkative, and hitting on my engaged roommate. We eventually shook him off, and got in line to get in the club.

We walked in, and I saw an actual club for the first time. Separate rooms, 5 bars, a huge dance floor, a raised dais for the DJ, roped off rooms for VIPs, female bartenders in slutty dresses and heels, colored lights everywhere, and official security guards everywhere you looked.

I bought a gin and tonic. It was $6.50. Gin and tonic should not cost $6.50. I'm used to $2.75. Blasphemous drink prices.

My roommates and I started dancing. I met a guy named Wink. Seriously. He went to say hi to a friend, and I wandered off to find a bathroom. The guys from Iceland gave me a drink, but I was wary, so I went back to one of the bars. I gave it to a male bartender. "What's wrong?" "A guy gave it to me, and I didn't see anyone make it." "Oh, good call. What can I get you?" "Some water, please." "Of course." He got me water, and a guy behind me said "Hello, love." I turned around, and there was a group of 6 British men from London. I met them all, and one named Richard.

Seriously? Is every 20-something handsome man from the UK named Richard? This is the fourth in 3 months!

Richard , the 25 year old banker from London with brown hair, asked me to dance. Of course, I said yes. He held my hand as we went to the dance floor, and we started dancing. It was awesome. He kept spinning me around, and holding me really close, song after song.

We kept dancing, and then he did the thing that almost every guy has done. He kissed my shoulder, then my neck, then he actually kissed me! We kept kissing and dancing, and it was delightful. We ended up walking off the dance floor, and kept kissing. We then heard a man yell "YEAH! GET SOME! WHOOO!" I turned around, and there was a fat old man right there.

Richard and I just walked away, back onto the dance floor. We kept dancing and kissing, but he was looking for his friends. He told me that he was having a guys night out with them, and that he should go hang out with them. He then kissed me one last time, and walked away, leaving me in the middle of the crowded dance floor alone.

A guy walked up to me. "Hey beautiful" he said, leering at me. "How bout a dance?"
"No thanks", I said as I walked away to find my roommates.

An incredibly tall man stopped me. "You're not old enough to be here."
"Excuse me?"
"You don't look a day over 16. You need to leave."
"Are you security?"
"Fuck you."
I walked away and found my roommates.

Twice, a guy was hitting on my engaged roommate. When they found out she was engaged, they hit on me. I danced with both of them, to get them away from my roommate, but when their  hands ended up where I didn't want them to, I just walked off and left them there.

I was walking back to get my coat, when I heard a wolf whistle. I turned, and there was a big guy leering at me. "Hey sexy." I ignored him and kept walking.

A random guy walked up to me as I was buttoning my coat, and said "Hey, I just wanted to tell you to be safe and have a good night."
"Um, thanks."

As I was leaving, I saw the 6 London bankers.
Richard was making out with another girl who looked sort of like me.

What an eventful first night out in Orlando.

Trying to get to Disney World

I got to the Helena airport at noon and said a tearful goodbye to my parents. After checking my two bags, I got through security. I was there for 2 and a half hours before I got told my flight was cancelled, due to computer problems on the plane. The amazing airport worker worked some magic to get me to Orlando, sort of on time.

Helena to Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City to Las Vegas
Las Vegas to Atlanta
Atlanta to Orlando

I'll get to Orlando at 9:23 tomorrow morning. Just in time, well....late; for check in at Disney.

I was at the Helena airport for SEVEN HOURS.

Today has been immensely difficult. However, the only thing that wouldn't fit in my bags was my photo album.

Harry Potter Post 26

"Personally, I'd have welcomed a Dementor attack. A deadly struggle for my soul would have broken the monotony nicely. You think you've had it bad; at least you've been able to get out and about, stretch your legs, get into a few fights.... I've been stuck inside for a month."
"You theenk Bill will not wish to marry me anymore?" demanded Fleur. "You theenk, because of these bites, he will not love me?"
"No, that's not what I -"
"Because 'e will!" said Fleur, drawing herself up to her full height and throwing back her long mane of silver hair. "It would take more zan a werewolf to stop Bill loving me!"
"Well, yes, I'm sure," said Mrs. Weasley, "but I thought perhaps - given how - how he -"
"You thought I would not weesh to marry him? Or per'aps, you hoped?" said Fleur, her nostrils flaring. "What do I care how he looks? I am good- looking enough for both of us, I theenk! All these scars show is zat my husband is brave! And I shall do zat!" she added fiercely, pushing Mrs. Weasley aside and snatching the ointment from her.
ʹDid you like question ten, Moony?ʹ asked Sirius as they emerged into the Entrance Hall.
ʹLoved it,ʹ said Lupin briskly. ʹGive five signs that identify the werewolf. Excellent question.ʹ
ʹDʹyou think you managed to get all the signs?ʹ said James in tones of mock concern.
ʹThink I did,ʹ said Lupin seriously, as they joined the crowd thronging around the front doors eager to get out into the sunlit grounds. ʹOne: heʹs sitting on my chair. Two: heʹs wearing my clothes. Three: his nameʹs Remus Lupin.ʹ
"Death's got an Invisibility Cloak?' Harry interrupted again.
“So he can sneak up on people,” said Ron. “Sometimes he gets bored of running at them, flapping his arms and shrieking...”
'Hem, hem,' said Professor Umbridge.
'Yes?' said Professor McGonagall, turning round, her eyebrows so close together they seemed to form one long, severe line.
'I was just wondering, Professor, whether you received my note telling you of the date and time of your inspec–'
'Obviously I received it, or I would have asked you what you are going in my classroom,' said Professor McGonagall, turning her back firmly on Professor Umbridge. Many of the students exchanged looks of glee. 'As I was saying, today, we shall be practising the altogether more difficult Vanishment of mice. Now, the Vanishing Spell –'
'Hem, hem.'
'I wonder,' said Professor McGonagall in cold fury, turning on Professor Umbridge, 'how you expect to gain an idea of my usual teaching methods if you continue to interrupt me? You see, I do not generally permit people to talk when I am talking.'
"Harry!" said Fred, elbowing Percy out of the way and bowing deeply. "Simply splendid to see you, old boy--"
"Marvelous," said George, pushing Fred aside and seizing Harry's hand in turn. "Absolutely spiffing."
Percy scowled.
"That's enough, now," said Mrs. Weasley.
"Mum!" said Fred as though he'd only just spotted her and seizing her hand too. "How really corking to see you--"

UK Trifecta of Awesome

I've had incredible luck this summer meeting men from the UK at my favorite bar. I met an English solider in May (His story's hereOh, and here. It's in two parts.), and an Irish soccer coach a few weeks ago (His story's here). I was bowled over by these charming, handsome men with delightful accents.

Last night, I completed the UK trifecta.

I went out dancing for the last time on a Saturday. It was slow at the bar I usually go to, and no one was dancing.

My favorite dance partner texted me and told me to go to where he was. I did, and we danced. He bought me a goodbye drink, a Dirty Shirley.

Note to the bartender who didn't know how to make it: it's vodka, grenadine, and sprite, not vodka, cherry syrup and tonic.

We danced some more, and there were too many people smoking, so I decided to head back to the other bar. I walked back over there, put my coat and my purse where no one would steal them, and saw a really cute guy by the pool tables. He was alone, so I decided to go over and say hi.

He smiled at me as I walked over. We started talking, and he mentioned that his friend was outside smoking. We introduced ourselves as his friend walked back in, and gave me his pool cue. I asked the 25 year-old cute guy where he was from, because I had noticed his accent.

"Oh, cool! Why are you here?"
"I come here all the time."
"No, seriously. My uncle lives here, and I'm here for two weeks to coach soccer for kids."
"You're coaching soccer for kids. That's adorable."

He taught me how to play pool, and my triumphant moment was getting two balls in, one after the other. After that, I was so awful that he gave me 4 extra tries. They did nothing, and he won in a glorious fashion.

We kept talking, and he asked if I wanted to get out of there. Of course, I said yes.

His friend was the sober driver, who was really nice and we all sang Lady Gaga and Katy Perry songs that were on the radio as he drove. He held my hand and put his arm around me.

The classiest song was on, 'California Girls' (Gurrls? Guurls?) was on as he kissed me for the first time. Even though I was sitting down, my foot popped.

Thanks, Princess Diaries!

We got to the house where the guys were staying, and his friend left us alone after giving the guy the car keys so I could get home.

We kissed for hours. It was incredible; amazing; breathtaking.

He kissed my hair, the top of my head, my cheeks, put his arms around me, leaned his head against my shoulder, my stomach; incredible kisses. He kept messing up my hair, then trying to fix it in the dark.

He told me I was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen, and he was so lucky to have met me.

We steamed up every window in the car, plus both windshields. I honestly didn't know that was possible in the summertime.

He gave me a ride home hours later, and we kissed goodbye for about 10 minutes. I walked up the stairs with a giant smile on my face.

This summer has been amazing. Who would've thought that I'd meet an Englishman, an Irishman, and a Scotsman in one summer? At my favorite bar? And they'd all be really tall, and incredibly handsome, and absurdly charming? A UK trifecta of awesome is what this is.

I love my life.

2 days until I move!

Roman Holiday

Princess Ann: I hate this nightgown. I hate all my nightgowns, and I hate all my underwear too.
Countess: My dear, you have lovely things.
Princess Ann: But I'm not two hundred years old. Why can't I sleep in pajamas?
Countess: Pajamas?
Princess Ann: Just the top part. Did you know that there are people who sleep with absolutely nothing on at all?
Countess: I rejoice to say I do not.
Princess Ann: Your Excellency, I trust you will not find it necessary to use that word again. Were I not completely aware of my duty to my family and to my country, I would not have come back tonight... or indeed ever again!
Princess Ann: At midnight, I'll turn into a pumpkin and drive away in my glass slipper.
Joe Bradley: And that will be the end of the fairy tale.
Joe Bradley: Now, come on. You're not that drunk.
Princess Ann: [laughing] If you're so smart; I'm not drunk at all. I'm just being verrrrry haaaappy...
